Mist Shroud + Tempest

Was watching a Savage video today and saw a Predator tempest some humans while mist shrouded -- from the human perspective you don't seem to see the predator even when they shoot at you, the only thing you see is the tempest shot coming out of nowhere.

So I assume that makes it a bit hard to 'counter-dodge' tempest shots since you can't 100% predict where the enemy beast might be.

Still learning new things about the game all the time, can anyone confirm if this kind of tactic is effective in general, or is it something that is pretty useless -- which would explain why a lot of people don't do this regularly in public matches?

It's 'known' but not the thing you will get 100-0 with (presuming you want that ). If you have a proper tempest-aim it can be quite successful for some time, until you run out of mana/lose your mist shroud.
For attacking I wouldn't recommend it, as you can probably do a lot more damage if you go in a pair with one rabid-raping the enemy and you standing back and temping.

Using mist while tempesting isn't something I would recommend. Your mist is far more useful as a melee tool, and if you decide to fit out a tempest pred with mist, the best time to use it would be when out of mana and waiting for regen, mist up and use some slow melee/delaying melee to keep your target pinned while you regen up so that you can return to shooting.

All in all, its not my first choice for ranged warfare, but certainly it's a must with melee.

Me too. I don't like campers. It takes out the fun of melee. I would rather play with the style of range while approaching each other, then go into melee mode. And I like to do this without having to worry about be graped by a summoner.

They do that, only if comm start with strata..

2 rabid preds in pair is the best way to slain humans one by one.

Useful for unskilled meleeplayers, but mist is still awesome for rabid in combo with frenzy You have to hit every shot to make some dmg in 10 secs, keep that in mind

Sorry...is it possible to get gold by cheating / hacking?

I'd like to add that a pred is - on most maps - still quite easy to see even with mist when you know where he is. So it will only alloud you to get one shot and for that its rather a waste i think. Also keep in mind that offis and com can mark you...

in a server with alot of players (like evo or g&g) you can tahe mist + rabid + pred and pwn all hummies .. i saw shagroth's video and stayed speachles..

I think it won't work that good in future xr updates. I have the xr testing version and there it looks a little bit green now...

G&G server had a test today to the XR 1.0 verision .. it might change that?
