Event: TNaismith's Teamwork Challenge

Introduction:

Hello members of The Hunterz Clan, and other registered forum users of our community.

My name is TNaismith, and I believe that teamwork is something that can be applied to everyone's life, and can help create a positive atmosphere when people are working with the 'team' in mind, rather than themselves. Teamwork is working together, fighting together, having fun together, and being friendly together. As well as encouraging a close connection between one another through kindness, understanding, knowledge, and compassion.

For Savage, this concept and mind-set can help make or break a clan match, a public server match, or even a clan itself to say the least. As a personal interest to help spread the spirit of teamwork and to encourage others to start working together instead of for themselves, I am hosting and running a Event that will take place next Saturday and Sunday of the coming weekend. That would be July 11th, and July 12th, 2009. The time for both days will be 8:00 AM at GMT -8 local time. We will go on for at least 1 hour, and after that what you want to do after will be up to you to decide. Use this online program to convert the time into a list of local times around the world. What will be happening?

What we will exactly be doing is taking screenshots of 'Teamwork' moments in Savage. When we all meet for the Challenge, we'll probably choose a server that we can play on without interference, and that we can also load different maps, and organize different setups to take 'Teamwork' pictures of. I personally will be focused on taking photos, and this leads me to the next part of this Challenge.


What can I do to help?

You can help by doing one of these two things, or both.

The first is this; From now, (Monday morning), to the beginning of next weekend (Saturday morning), you can think/brainstorm creative pictures in Savage that might get the message of 'Teamwork' across when someone looks at the picture. Brainstorm what you think might look good in Savage for 'Teamwork', and then post it here, or bring your idea to the Challenge on Saturday+Sunday morning.

The second way to help is by showing up on Saturday or Sunday morning, and being willing to help be in the pictures by posing, or being our 'actors' or 'models'. Teamwork does mean working together, so the more people we have helping to make the photos as real and 'teamwork' looking as possible, the better it will look afterwards. Will we got to an XR Server for higher quality pictures?

We will NOT be going to XR Server because it is not clear how many of us do have XR at the moment. Choosing an XR Server might leave out people. We would rather have more people participate rather than have better graphics/quality.


Will Teamspeak or Ventrilo be mandatory?

No. Teamspeak or Ventrilo will NOT be mandatory. I personally plan to communicate through the in-game chat and text box. Our Clan-Leader Th3_Hunt3r though, might decide to use Teamspeak or Ventrilo. You are welcome to join him there if he gives you permission to, and if he participates in this Challenge.

Are there any other rules or expectations for this Challenge?

Basic respect, etiquette, listening skills, and good behavior are expected at this Challenge. We don't appreciate having nitwits and immature players causing problems or issues while we're taking the pictures, and we will frown upon behavior or activity that don't contribute positively to this project.

Please be prepared to listen, and move to your positions or poses when your asked to. I hope this will be a fun event as well as a meaningful one. For that to happen, we need everyone to listen, respect each other, and well....basically work as a TEAM. =D

I'd like to end off by saying I thank you for taking the time to read this Challenge, and I sincerely hope to hear some great ideas, get to know some new people, and ultimately collect good pictures from Savage to use in creating some 'Teamwork' banners, signatures, and artwork for TH.

This Challenge and project is run and managed entirely by myself. I will be using the photos I take for making artwork for TH, so if you have any problems with having your picture taken (Though that would be very strange), then you have been warned that your participation can possibly result in being published as public artwork under The Hunterz Clan.

Please post any ideas, questions or discussion you have in this thread. They will be taken into consideration for the days of the Challenge.

Most importantly, this is also for fun, and overall to help foster and create an atmosphere where teamwork is valued, respect and honor are present, and the vibe of this community can thrive with friendliness and positive social engagement alongside being a competitive Savage clan.

Agreed. I read the guide just two weeks ago when I started to come back to Savage. I was amazed at the information there, and the tips really are good and helpful. If anyone in TH reads it, and can prove in matches that they understand what that strategy guide, I'd always be willing to follow them because understanding that guide means you understand a very important part of teamwork and tactics. I think I'll consider posting a link to the Newerth Strategy Guide later on the forums. Thankees for reminding me of that awesome resources March. ^^

The time for the event won't change, so if people can't make it this time, that is unfortunate. We'll just go with what we have, and we'll make the best of the time depending on who does show up. I'll probably post more information on the days of event here on the forums, so that way people can know exactly what is going on.

I appreciate you guys at least posting here about it though. If you are able to make it, then I'll be happy. If you can't make it, I'll still be happy. ^^ I'll just consider hosting another challenge with a different time.

I think i read some ancient strategy guide of savage, cant remember if it was this or another. Anyway, this one is really impressive, worth watching!

I'm not sure how I'm supposed to use that site to calculate the time for this event, but I did use the other time planner program from another thread, and here are the results. When it is 8:00 AM in my area on Saturday and Sunday, these are the times it will be in the rest of the world.

xD Well it was worth a try at least. I got some pictures, but it didn't turn out to be a big event--which is alright with me. I'll try this again when the time is right.
