Your personal dream PC Empty Your personal dream PC

Post by Nero Thu 22 Apr 2010, 4:49 am

I thought of this for a while:

We all dream of the supercomputers, with the most powerfll top notch hard & Software, but i think nobody can aford it here. Her is you chance to dream away:

THis is a competition, where you may show your computer knoladge, by building your own, supercomputer. The most powerfull and coolest pc winns!

Just some rules:

1-THe pc needs to be realistic. for instance, its impossible to fit 5 graf cards on a 4 PCI slot motherboard.
2-It needs to be a PC, not a server.
3-It needs to work, so dont show a sual proccesor I7 board, because it dousnt exist.
4-You need to understand that some GPU take the space of 2 PCI slots, so a 4 slot motherboard, doesnt fit 3 gtx 295 cards.
5-You are NOT alowed to change your rig after it has posted.
6-You need to show that the thing actualy exists, so dont come with a procesor thats not there yet

I will post mine in a week or so. Have Fun

Well if you want a good GPU you must get atleast 550 W PCU or whatever it was called, because for example radeon 5770? requiers 400 of PC watts, so get as much watts as you can get, because power = performance

Deox,
1)
i dont think you can fit 3*GTX480 on one 4pci motherboard, its too big : fanns wont be able to cool enought
2)
The momory you have comes in 3 slots, and your motherboard has 3, so its useles to buy 2.
3) great rig for the rest

umm WHAT?

Rampage II Extreme has three PCI-E 16x slots and enough space to install graphic cards into motherboard. Secondly, there are 6 RAM slots for DDR3 memory, and the motherboard can handle up to 12GB of memory. That's why I would buy two 6GB DDR3 memory insted of six 2GB memory.

Though wasting that much money... It's enough 1x 4-core proc, 1x one of the latest ATI's or Nvida's graphic card, not so bad sound card and try to combine it to not waste much electricity.
It's enough to play latest games on decent quality. So that's kinda my dream PC which should be replaced every 3-5 years Wink
