On 2013/02/02 a new update came out. It was a huge update (4GBs) with alot of changes. The most important update on my opinion was the performance update! PlanetSide 2 now runs much faster on my PC than before. Also airships and ground vehicles are now much easier to fly or drive with. Furthermore the spawn areas got changed so spawn camping shouldn't be an issue anymore. Yesterday I just played on Esamir and I have to say it makes much more fun now! NC got a new main base spawn point. Now Vanu doesn't own nearly all areas on Esamir anymore. It's much more balanced than before. New SMG weapons have been included to the certification/station cash store. They cost 1000 cert points. Didn't try them out yet but I saw them in action. On short distance they're devastating. Not sure if they're worth the 1000 cert points though...

Major changes in the newest game update (gu06):
-Alerts: Every now and then there will be a global alert. Mostly it says "capture Indar/Esamir/Amerish in the given time limit". The time limit is usually 2 hours. If you participate in this mission your xp gain will be increased by 20%. If your faction wins the "alert" your whole faction will be rewarded by 10000xp.

-Badges: For different achivements you'll get so called badges which are worth 250xp each. 5 times a day you get another 750xp (I think) for getting such a badge.

-Weapons: Many weapons have a faster reload time now. To me it seems NC is now more balanced to other factions. It could be that I'm wrong, but for me it feels like so.
