I love banners that look so good just by using different colors, and different sizes of font to make things stand out in a artistic way, without using specific pictures/images/renders. That really shows a good understanding of graphics design -- which is a huge part of any business in the real world. =)

To say the least, awesome work and kudos to your friend who made the banner. They should be proud of the artistic talent they've got there. ^^
