How to Sac in Savage?

I'm wondering what is the exact method + timing to sac properly? I know to sac you usually get the following items:

- Sacrifice
- Frenzy
- Storm Shield

I know Sacrifice lasts about 8-10 seconds, so you need to time your attack so you arrive at the target right as you blow up. However, I have problems getting the order of the items so that all of them are used.

For example, when I try to sac, I usually turn on sacrifice, then I turn on Frenzy, then Storm Shield...but what happens is that Storm Shield cancels out Frenzy. I guess I could just test it in an empty server and find out what the proper method is, but I'll ask you guys since a lot of you do saccing a lot.

What is the proper order to use Sacrifice, Frenzy, and Storm Shield so that you get all three items working at the same time?

start frenzy and next start sac, you dont need shield unless you sac mortar towers And i sac by sound, i know by the sound of the sac when excactly i will blow up

xD I tested some saccing today in a private server. It definitely takes 10 seconds. I didn't know you can listen for the saccing to blow up. I'm training myself to time the sac using the time at the bottom right of the screen. xD

I always see pro players putting on Frenzy, Wind Shield and Sac together when they go attack a hummie base. I thought there was a secret method to get all three working at the same time. xD

use scole mouse,

Sac position 3 frenzy/mist 2 frenzy 1 (assuming melle wep taken)

Activate mist wait till 10 secs then if needed speed swap to frenzy if needing sac onlyactive sac then sac goes off to the mist timer

Dont be fooled by some people, some have sac timers,

i never count, i'm always guided by the sound of the sacrifice

Hmm, I understood until the part you started talking about sac goes of the mist timer? What do you mean by that? You mean activate sac first, then at the end of the sac timer, activate mist?

Try listening to the sound of it. It like, goes higher twice. When the second time goes "up" it will blow.
1- If there is no mortar towers, just use frenzy.
2- If there are mortar towers, you can ask your commander to heal you twice and you don't need frenzy then. The two heals will give you all your stamina.

and i mean activate mist first you get the timers (12 seconds) on 10 activate sac when mist disappears and you can be seen sac goes off milliseconds after

swaping to frenzy if your seen by towers/need speed

i have instant-reloc bind if you want it

yeh sac goes over the top of mist like normal its the way its allways been

I always use in game timer to count down when sac procs. There is always ways to modify sac loop sound (savage0.s2z\sound\beast\items\) but I haven't done it because it would be cheating.

Guys, I'm going to delete this topic if anyone continues talking about cheating/hacking.
Just use the mist or game timer, and I think everyone of you is able to count to 10.
Even if TN is the leader here, I will NOT tolerate cheating/hacking or talking about cheats/hacks.

You can do whatever you want, but please do it somewhere else when it's against the (clan)rules.

DieOrFail is correct, (although I'm sure you didn't mean it seriously Valrog) cheating or hacks of any sort are not tolerated in this community. And discussion/promoting cheats or hacks definitely isn't encouraged either.

I've edited the posts containing references to possible cheats, but DieOrFail's warning still stands.

This topic wasn't created to discuss cheats/hacks for saccing, but rather how to sac in Savage naturally. (Without changing the game files).

What?? I thought it was a bind script to countdown you guys were using?? I didn't ask for any hack. If it's a hack, I'm not interested I thought a bind to countdown would be cool, as I love to sac.

I just wanted to make things clearer for everyone.

(ps: I hate bindscripts as much as I hate hacks, but everyone's using them lately. That's one reason why I stopped playing Savage regularly.)

Best way to sac is pmining till level 7 fast and using frenzy (stand still till max stam) then leap towards towers, as soon as you see mortar tower projectiles incoming/landmines upcoming activate storm shield, knowing when to activate sac at the right time is just practise and judgement of how far the distance to go is. As for timing when sac is about to explode its pretty easy to be guided by the sound of sac after you've used it a few times, though counting in the head 10 seconds is good for a newbie saccer.

EDIT: About those scripts im pretty certain most of the savage community uses them, and at one point a public sac timer was posted on newerth forums for a short time..Not that I condone such actions...

So many people keep referring to the saccing sounds to be let them know the exact moment to sac... but in the years I've played Savage, I rarely hear this sound while in the middle of battle. I just can't ever hear the sac sound loud enough to know when I'm about to explode or not. =(

Bah, maybe have to turn sound settings up. Maybe the count-to-10 will have to do as well.

Well, you can always use the game timer...

Like slug said ,just become a feeling for sacrifices, you won't need neither a timer nor a hack or some kind of that stuff

Thanks for the tips, Sluggy. I was aware that it's supposed to go off after 10 seconds. I'm reasonably able to estimate the time.

The game time is not very useful - as it's hard to look down at the current game time while people are shooting at you with repeaters and flux guns as you're running towards towers that are also firing at you. Like TN, I also don't hear any sound difference. What I do is count mentally. The time it takes to say one-thousand-and-one is about one second:)

Agreed! xD The trouble with game timers is the same with me -- it's easy to say "Look at the game timer", but in reality, when you have flux/repeater being spammed at you -- it's hard to keep paying attention.

But... using the game timer is the only thing I've been able to use at all -- even though I fail 80% of the time. xD

I activate sac, then count to 10 (while staying out of sight if possible but close to towers), put on frenzy, start running and try to avoid getting killed. I don't sac much but works almost always.
I count to ten because i have figured out that if I start going for the tower then, I will just make it to the tower. I also don't hear the sound difference.
