Signature Banner Rules

Hello there,

On these forums, we wish to implement several rules regarding banner signatures for forum users.


:: What is a Signature Banner (Sig Banner)? ::

First of all, a signature is an image that forum users can attach to their profile, and then have appear at the bottom of every post they make. It can be an expressive way to display a bit of your personality, what you like, something that makes you laugh, or something you want to share with the world. Signatures can contain text, or images.


:: What is the Signature Banner limit for The Hunterz forum? ::

For us, we would like to keep signatures within the size of 500 Pixels for Width, and 100 Pixels for Height. That means signature banners (pictures, images) must be within this size.

:: What is the 'File Size' limit? ::

The 'File Size' limit represents the actual amount of space your signature takes up whenever someone loads a page with your signature on it. Having signatures with huge file sizes will make everyone take longer to load a page. Having to wait a long time for a page to load because somebody's signature takes long to load isn't fun.

For The Hunterz forums, we prefer your signature banner doesn't exceed 5 Megabytes (mb) or higher. If you'd like to find out what your image's size is, you can right click on the image and go to 'Properties'. You should see how large your file is.


:: What happens if my image doesn't fit these guidelines? ::

If your signature banner/image doesn't fit our guidelines, then you will be given warnings in advance from moderators or administrators. Failure to change or follow warnings will result in the removal of your signature banner/image. This can be done at any time, and we reserve this right to do so.


:: Any other rules to consider? ::

Beyond the technical rules mentioned above, we also discourage anything that may be breaking any of our Forum Rules. Make sure your images don't contain illegal material, hate messages, personal attacks, pornography, and anything that we might consider inappropriate for these forums. Use discretion and common sense when uploading your signature banner. Exceptions will be done on a case-by-case basis.
